Why should I read eBooks instead of print books?
Clearly it is unlikely that print books will be completely replaced by eBooks. But there are many reasons to consider using eBooks.
- Instead of having to carry around the heavy printed versions, you can download eBooks on to your laptop or PDA. In addition, the eBook’s built-in dictionary will prove especially useful when reading technical and business matter, particularly useful for frequent travelers.
- If you are a student, you can download all your textbooks on to your laptop or specific sections to your PDA and that will be all you need to bring to class! You can highlight passages, quickly search the text, make annotations and create bookmarks.
- If you are anxious to read the latest bestseller, you can download and start reading immediately instead of waiting for the book to be shipped.

Do eBooks provide less or more information than their print counterparts? Will illustrations transfer clearly?
In most cases, eBooks are an exact duplication of the printed book, and the digital files are optimized for each of the different formats. However, some formats are better than others at displaying equations, graphics and illustrations and you would need to select the format that best meets your requirements. In addition, rights issues may sometimes prevent inclusion of all the illustrations as they exist in the printed version. In such cases the illustration caption will still be included so that the original source can be traced if necessary.
If new research becomes available or the book is revised will the eBook be automatically updated?
No, eBook editions are published in the same way as new editions of printed books.
Can I build my own digital library with my eBooks? Can I search across all my titles in each individual format or on all my titles of different formats together?
All titles purchased will be accessible at the ‘Download Center’ where they are automatically shelved in the appropriate format bookshelf. Each format bookshelf works as your personal library, from where you can access/download your purchased books at anytime. However, at this time, titles on the shelves cannot be searched, either on individual formats or across different formats.
